Chloe
Arabian Mix - Mare - estimated birth year 1999
Chloe is the horse that started it all. When our founder, Tera, started working at a rescue, she became Chloe’s groom. They eventually earned each other’s trust and Tera knew she had to bring her home. Chloe is beautifully intelligent and has the spark of a mare. She is learning new things all the time and has come to love the attention of her humans. She now trusts human hands and tools and is very happy in her forever home.

Pepper
Mini - Mare - estimated birth year 2011
Peppers history is unknown, but she came from a rescue. She was terrified of people, but for some reason, she fell in love with our daughter. We had to bring her home. Now Pepper is learning to trust other humans. She lives with our goats as she seems to love anything smaller than her!

Skylar
Paint - Mare - estimated birth year 1999
Skylar came to us with her best friend, Radar. Skylar had a loving home, but they were just unable to care for her anymore. She had overgrown hooves and a history of metabolic syndrome with laminitis. Her metabolic syndrome and feet have proven to be the hardest thing to rehabilitate, but through diet and a great farrier, she has made tremendous improvements. Her sweet, kind soul makes it all worth it!

Radar
Donkey- Gelding - estimated birth year 1995
Radar came to us with his best friend, Skylar. We were told that Radar was used in the military during his prime years and he has a US tattoo on the side of his neck. We don't know his exact duties, but it is rumored that he was used in some way for re-enactments. He is a wonderfully gentle donkey and is esp. fond of our youngest son. He has the softest nose of the whole herd! We are so proud to have this military veteran retired on our farm to spoil for the rest of his life.

Buddy
Quarter - Gelding - estimated birth year 2010
Buddy came from a rescue. The story we received was that Buddy was approx 7 years old and was ridden, quite literally, into the ground. He developed a condition called navicular disease, in which his case was caused by a large bone spur off of the navicular bone. This prevents Buddy from being able to be ridden due to pain. He took a tumble when his rider was on his back and he still wears the scar on his knee from this. The plan, by his owner, was to euthanize him since he was no longer usable for them, until the rescue heard of his story and scooped him up to live his life in sanctuary.

Sally
Missouri Fox Trotter - Mare- estimated birth year 1998
Sally came from the rescue that we had worked at. Our mother also volunteered there and became Sally's groom. Sally was a retired therapy trail horse and had soft, sweet eyes. She was happy hanging with humans and getting lots of treats from our mom. Once we got our farm, we heard that euthanasia was being discussed for Sally. Our mom was heartbroken. We knew we had to get her home for her. When the day arrived to bring the horses to the farm, my mom was at the farm. We backed Sally out of the trailer and my mom had no idea she was coming home. Tears of joy welled from her eyes and Sally lived another couple of joyful years at the farm with her mama at her side, feeding her lots of treats and grooming her long, thick mane. Sally crossed the rainbow bridge in 2022 but will be forever remembered as my mom's first horse.

Fatima
Arabian Mix - Mare - estimated birth year 1996
Fatima was Shauns first horse and came to us from a rescue. She was believed to be Chloe’s mom and was just the sweetest soul. She loved the kids and would allow them to ride her. Her head was always relaxed and low. Fatima was believed to be 28 years old when she crossed the rainbow bridge. We will forever miss that beautiful soul.
